I've always just muted those two strings, so if in the event I accidentally do hit them they don't mess the song up.Davy28 wrote:...I dont think two step is very good for strummin patterns per say, it is better for strumming accuracy so you don't strum the open e and B strings which sound terrible.
As a beginner myself, I've found a few DMB songs to be fairly easy. I'm just learning Lie In Our Graves and not having too much trouble with it. I'll Back You Up didn't pose too many problems either. Grey Street isn't too hard and Halloween is pretty easy, That was the first song I learned and the only trouble I had was changing from the Am to the Bm and back, because of the barre chord.
I know everyone says that the timing for The Stone is troublesome, but I don't really have too much trouble with that, either. I'm far from accomplished on it, but DMB fans will definitly recognize it if I'm playing it. I can't change chords with that damn stretch in the #41 intro at all, but the Crash stretch doesn't bother me too much. Proudest Monkey is very esay to play, but singing with it is another thing. And it is boring just to play it. And I don't think Rhyme & Reason is too hard, either, once you get the timing down.
Those are my suggestions.
