how should I do this...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

gcom007 wrote:Hello and welcome. Here is my advice to you:

1 ) Don't stop listening to other bands.

2 ) Try to balance out the time you spend listening to other bands.

3 ) Don't believe that DMB is the greatest band because anyone else says so.

4 ) Don't accept mediocrity.

5 ) Don't get caught up in the hype.

6 ) Don't make excuses for mediocrity.

7 ) Don't let all the horny 16 year olds here hit on you...they will because you're a female guitarist who is here...they will, don't encourage them.

8 ) Stay away from DMB message boards as best you can...come every now and again, but don't let it become habitual.

I'm a horny 16 year old too, so it's okay. Thanks for the advice. I've made mistakes before about being obsessed. So are there ANY other female posters?
grrrrreat...
Sorry! I'm not "perpetually"... Just trying to take the load off everyone else's backs...but really... am I alone in my girl-who-likes-dmb-and-plays-guitar-and-surfs-the-web-ness? :?

Well, I don't really feel like cluttering the board with another "Hi, I'm new" topic, so I'm just use this topic to introduce myself.

Hi, my name is Josh, I'm from Winfield, AL (about an hour north of Tuscaloosa, fatjack). I'm 17 and I'm about to be a senior in high school. I play trombone and guitar. I've been playing trombone for I think 7 years now and I've been playing guitar for about 4 months. I know a few songs and right now I'm working on Satellite and Crash. I just started guitar lessons last wednesday....uhh, let's see anything else?....oh yeah, I'm a fan of basically any type of music, though I favor punk. I've been a fan of DMB for a couple years now, I have most of their CDs, and I plan on going to see my first show in Tennessee in Sept.

sounds like you don't need any advice, soldier boy. you already got a girl! and a musical one at that

and why the soldier part of the name, out of curiosity? the app part is cause you're at app state, am i correct? where they had the "acoustical" evening with dave and tim.. hehe

Oh yea...a freaking great concert by the way. Im in the army...which makes me a soldier. :D actually, the musical girlfriend thing, can hurt in the end...especially when you mess up while playing. but im not complaining.
since you seem to be on right now...ill ask you a question i asked in the general discussion. how does it work when you post originals on here..if you know. should you copyright them first, or are they protected in some way...cause id like to start posting my stuff for some help, but i don't know if i can.
