Bartender

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Bartender

Unread post by lzldmb » Fri Jul 18, 2003 4:19 pm

I did a search and retired unsatisfied. I can see the tabs for Bartender, but I am not sure how to play it. Does anyone have any tips? Just doesn't seem to make sense to me. Granted, I am very new at the guitar, so that is probably why I'm slightly confused. I don't know the strumming pattern or anything other than the tabs before me....please help.

First of all make sure you're in drop D, (helps lol) Second if you can't find the video try to get the acoustic version from Storytellers.....do this because it is extremly hard to pick out the guitar when he plays it with the whole band.

Yeah storytellers is great to go off!

Question though, does he always strum this song in the strict UP DOWN UP DOWN manner he does in storytellers...or does he strum more loosely and fully sometimes?
My "gitter" was my best investment

Umm try to put this in english.....the rythym on your strumming hand will remain the same, and the hand that's playing the notes will be creating the sound of the song. NOt quite sure if that's what you're asking but I tryed lol

agreed...i think its horrible how he does it there. If you download Dave at Farmaid playing Crush...it should be 8:44 long, he's in the middle of Bartender when the video starts. it isn't the whole thing, but its exactly how he plays it w/ the band...but he's solo. it helps a lot.
