Say goodbye help

Unread post by jjlopez » Fri Jul 18, 2003 2:50 pm

In Say goodbye from live at luther college, I can't figure out what chords dave is strumming at about 3:50 into the song.....the part when he goes off ,right after "awaaaaayyyyy.... yeaa". Is it just the chorus with different strumming? I can't figure it out. thanks alot

Are you sure the second chord isn't 32403x? Its hard to tell exactly, but it sounds to me like 32403x.

Did you come up with that?

I believe this is actually what Dave always plays...the switch to the second "G" chord is quick (just add the pinky)

listen to the lyrics and notice when the chord changes are...I tried to line them up as well as I could. I am pretty positive about this...

you'll probably have to copy and paste it to notpad to see it right...

Code: Select all

Outro

E|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-(0)----------------------------------3----3------------3---------------|
G|--2-----------------------------------x----x------------2---------------|
D|--2-----------------------------------0----4------------x---------------| <--4on4
A|--------------------------------------2----2------------x---------------|
E|--------------------------------------3----3------------2---------------|

324x3- is both what sounds the most accurate and what jkanter's tab says. There is no way to be positive because there are no videos for the say goodbye tab.

yes that is the correct chord, but dave actually plays the first chord (from my tab) for a second and then adds the pinky for a second....if you can, download the "crashing the quarter" video of the song, and you can see it perfectly. also, if you listen carefully, you can hear the change...if you would like, i could post a clip of this whole part...

Don't bother, because your right. Damn, I never realized that there were two different g-chords at that part. They blend in so perfectly, especially in the L@LC version. Jkanter should add that.

Well, I'm gonna post this anyways, since jjlopez was the one who actually asked the question in the first place, and since I wanted something to do. Listen for the joy if you wanna  .

I started with the last part of the chorus, and then went into the outro ( :? ).
