6 to 12

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

6 to 12

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Thu Jan 13, 2005 11:55 pm

I was just thinking, there are some 12 string dmb songs that I think sound better with a 6, and some that are 6 that sound better as twelve. Thought I'd ask you guys what your thoughts are.

I think Bartender sounds better on the 6 string, expecially solo. I also think that SUAD is better on a 6.

I do like Spoon on 12, and I think Nancies would be kewl on 12. I also think 2 Step would sound great on a 12.
Yes, I am in a box

Two Step twelve sounds great, I played it at a local guitar store for the owner and he liked it. I didn't actually play it "for him" but he heard and said it sounded great. So yea!

They ought to bring back the last stop on a 12 like in the old D&T tours. Watchtower would have twice the power it already has on a 12.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

i think pig would sound cool on a 12. crush might. spoon definitely does sound good on a 12, atleast on mine. i love Let You Down, that could sound cool with more strings. And as much as i cant stand Crash into me... well, i think it would bring more out of it if it was played on a 12 string.

and yeah... two step and watchtower would both rock on a 12!

Too much on a 12 burns the hell out of your fingers, but sounds really trippy and funky. If you can slam those fills in there.
