What to Do
What to Do
Alright, so I've got a litle dilema going on here. I hadn't checked the submitted tabs for a while becuase I was busy and didn't have time for them. I am in the process of updating all tabs that need updating.
Now the problem is that there have been good tabs submitted for stuff that are not on my tabs. This isn't a problem, clearly, as that is what the reasoning behind the contribution section is. The problem lies in the fact that some of these parts that people have contributed ARE on video's and I had planned to add them...but just hadn't gotten around to it. I don't want people thinking that I stole their contribution just to get myself better recognized...but they have really been on my agenda.
A good example is that cool Satellite intro that has been played only a couple times. Ironically, I had just received a video that has one of those very few times it was played....on it. Now, how do I go about this situation...should I contact the tabber and explain it??? To be honest, I would rather NOT put up a completly new tab for say, a watchtower intro that is power chords as opposed to just the bass notes, because it forces people to click more around the site. That tab has been submitted but is also on plenty of video's. There shouldn't be a need for someone to have to go to a completly new tab for something that I have seen and could have tabbed earlier had I had the time. I know you might be thinking this is selfish, but it is in NO WAY that. I am just trying to think of the usability of my users.
Lemme know what you all think....thanks guys...peace

I do understand that....and for the example I used(Satellite intro) I would fully be able to do that because the tab did actually help me a little with the intro. But on something like a watchtower intro, where I had seen the exact same thing, just didn't put it up....is it necessary??? Most of the times when this issue comes into play, I had seen the same thing people had submitted because I have most of the video's people do. Just curious what you all think, thanks...peaceDMBFreak84 wrote:yeah, what jack said is a real good idea, just as long as you say that so and so helped ya out, i dont think anyone would feel that you were being selfish

or you can put a little disclaimer type thing somewhere explaining that you "receive tons and tons of contributions for tabs and it's impossible to recognize everyone in some cases and therefore please understand that we are greatful for all contributions and continue to improve dmbtabs.com because of you, the contributor. Peace and thanks again."
just my opinion though

for the thing with the watchtower intro, if you planned on having the tab, dont bother with putting someone else's name on it, just say thanks for the help...blah blah blahjkanter wrote:I do understand that....and for the example I used(Satellite intro) I would fully be able to do that because the tab did actually help me a little with the intro. Yeah, that seems like it would be the easiest, but still acknowledges the contributors.DmbFanJason wrote:that seems like the best idea to me also.tjmac66pc wrote:or you can put a little disclaimer type thing somewhere explaining that you "receive tons and tons of contributions for tabs and it's impossible to recognize everyone in some cases and therefore please understand that we are greatful for all contributions and continue to improve dmbtabs.com because of you, the contributor.
