#41 Question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

#41 Question

Unread post by MatthewFini » Sat Jul 05, 2003 8:21 pm

I have this song down pretty well except for the last chord on the intro. It's:

E:----------
B:3----3----
G:0h4--0h4--
D:x----x----
A:5----5----
E:------------

I'm trying to mimic the way he plays it at luther college but it sounds like there is an extra note in there somewhere and i can't get it to sound right. Is there a different tab to this part? Sorry for such an awkward question i just want to play it as correctly as possible. thanks.

the second hammer-on is supposed to be on the D string fourth fret, not the G string. twill sound booooooooooootiful if you play it that way!

well this might help ;)

e------------------------------------
B-----3------------------------------
G-----0--------0h2p0---------------
D----4---4------------------0h4----
A---5--------------------5-----------
E-------------------------------------

thats what I have always played as opposed to 0h4, 0h4...I go 0h2, 0h4...works for me...

check this out and see if you like it that way (the chord)...

I play this:

Code: Select all

e---------------------
B---3-----------------
G---0---0h4p0---------
D---4-----------0h4p0-
A---5-----------------
E---------------------
HERE. I also hit the low E string as the bass note on the third chord:

Code: Select all

e-------
B---8---
G---4---
D---5---
A---7---
E---0---
I think he does that on L@LC. Finally, I play an open C chord as the third chord on the chorus:

Code: Select all

e---0---
B---1---
G---0---
D---2---
A---3---
E---x---
I think it rings out a little nicer. Hope this helps.

That's exactly how I play it and it sounds great... I support this post.
