Off-key Satellite?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Off-key Satellite?

Unread post by Clare_uk_raven » Thu Jun 26, 2003 9:55 am

Hey guys jus wanted to ask a lil' question...

On the 05.05.03 Dave and Tim UMAS show before heading into Satellite - Dave and Tim played an off-key version, might be a stupid question but jus wonderin if anyone knew a tab for that? Or an easy way of doin it?

Thanks :)

Hey Clare

You basically just remove the spacings on the normal satellite verse, and start on the 5th fret.....

Code: Select all

Code:
E:----------------------------
G:----------------------------
B:----------------------------
D:-----7---6---5---------6----
A:---6---5---------7--5-------
E:-5---------7---6---------7--
Where abouts in the uk Clare?

also, back when satelite was 'after her' it was a half step down every time i have heard it-same progressions for the most part, just down a fret. but i haven't heard the intro you are talking about but it may stem from the old version.
I am who I am who I am.....Who am I, Requesting some enlightenment.

I haven't heard that, what I have noticed is that if you download some 1990/91 shows and try play along it doesn't work cause it's half a step UP.
Dave's vocals also sounds higher pitch then usual......a friend of mine has this recording software that always records stuff half a step up...I think that's what might have happenned....

Dave wrote satellite based on a hand exercise which is the off-key intro......or so i've heard..
