Pulling out my Benaroya DVD right now, let me look. If I remember correctly he just plays it in chords rather than fingerpicking.

He uses a pick but he picks out the individual notes, he doesnt strum them all. He throws in a lot of mutes between each chord change too. Is that what your asking about?
