Crush help for a newish guitarbee

Hi , could someone help me out somewhat?
Firstly, "crazy how you" , this sounds abit flat when im playing it. This could be due to the fact that im only strumming 2 strings, BUT everyone onlt plays two stings! Any tips to make it sound not so dull?!
Secondly, " you crush me with the things you do etc - how do you play this? Once you get to sitting smoking (i know how to do this)

Any tips on any part of this song would be great.

I believe it is in drop D tuning. Are you tuning the 6th string down to D?

I noticed when playing along with the BTCS version I was also a little flat when in DADGBE. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not since I don't post here often, but I think dave is tuned slightly sharp for this recording. It also doesn't sound like he's playing 'custic on the cd either. I think he's playing that big 'ole archtop he uses in the video. I don't know....just some thoughts

well, i think its mostly cos you can't hear dave's guitar in the mix. Tim is probably playing the rythmn part along with dave and its what your hearing.

i dont tune down, so i juts make the strech, and i think its sounding flat because your not playing the E (or D if thats how you play it)

Make sure you're playing the part that Pat posted in his video thread... its a little different from Kanters tab... It sounds right on to me with the Dave and Tim Crush version I have.

That part was only done on Sessions @ AOL I have a few videos of Dave and Tim playing it and he never does that...

When i play Crush.. I play it a half step down in double drop D. I find Crush sounds a lot better that way.

Well even if...Kanter's tab for that part is definitely not right.

And what videos are you looking at? He's definitely doing it on 3.29.03.

I'm looking at 5,5,04, Storytellers, and Farmaid 03' I don't see him doing that.

I don't see why he wouldn't be, but I'm 99% sure he's not doing it Jared's way.
