Trippin Billies Help

Unread post by trojan11 » Fri Oct 08, 2004 4:59 pm

I've been busting my tail trying to get the verse down pat for the past couple days, and the video dmbguitar718 has helped a lot, but i just can't seem to get it to flow smoothly. Any suggestions?

If you've been playing it alot than play something else or nothing at all. After a few days watch Pat's clip again and then give it another go. Somtimes you need to step away to get closer.

What he said. You can't smother yourself with one song while you are learning it. I always try to learn a few songs at a time so I don't get frustrated. If I can't get one down I'll try another. Billies verse is pretty difficult, I recommend listening to a D+T version a lot.

Just wondering, I've been working on the chorus lately and does the 8~~~~ in the tab mean bend the string?

Strangely enough I didn't think the verse is that hard. =\

I'll bet singing to it is a bitch though!

actually you know what...thats some damn good advice...I have found that ill not play a song that I couldn't get, that I worked my ass off on, but then like 3 months later try it again, and BOOM...it clicks....it's fuckin weird...you'd think the more you practice something the better you get...which is obviously true, but yea, stepping back sometimes does work...really weird phenomenon.

True that , just 3 days is sometimes more than enough , i guess its a subconscience thing eh ? Like your mind just learns the song during those days and kinda sends some signals to your fingers and all that shit
