So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

does dave mute the 1---0 and the 0h1---1h3 part, or just pick the one string?

Code: Select all

E:------------------------------------
B:------------------------------------
G:---------------------------------
D:-3----1-0--3----(0h)1h3---3
A:-x----------x----------------x-
E:-1----------1-----------------1

well it has no "x", and it doesn't sound like he mutes it...is that the exact term you are looking for?

yeah i guess. i just always end up hitting the G string there, and it bothers me beacause i am usually acurate enough to not do that. must be the 1x3 strum, then a quick change to picking one string, then back to strumming....sigh...more practice.
