If Dave were to pull you on stage...
I was thinking a while ago...what if one time at a concert, (of course when i'm front row) dave decides to pull me on stage, strap HIS guitar around me, and tells me i can play any song of his that i want and he'd sing it. (let me dream...) haha. anyway! i was like "holy shit...what do i pick?"
first songs that came to mind were the last stop, seek up, dreaming tree, minarets...or soemthing like that. then i though, "the last stop, how does the chorus to that go again? Then seek up, how does the end jam part go again? Dreaming tree: what do i do after the verse...and what's teh chorus?!
That forced me to go re learn those songs.
so my question is...which song would you WANT to pick...and which would you end up picking??

So the pauses are the same? cause bartender i can do. meaning...the second chord is twice as long as the first? cause that makes A LOT of sense.dmbguitar718 wrote:Think of the Seek Up wail part like the Bartender wail part.
and the reason that i woiuld pick those songs is because if i were to play a song i would want it to be someting that i wouldn't normally hear. a treat for me and the rest of the audience. ya know..JTR, last stop, seek up, dreaming tree...how many times a tour are those played?

This very thing happpened to me, except he played, too and sang back up. The crowd went friggin' nuts and everybody loved me...then I woke up.i-am-me wrote:I was thinking a while ago...what if one time at a concert, (of course when i'm front row) dave decides to pull me on stage, strap HIS guitar around me, and tells me i can play any song of his that i want and he'd sing it. I'd do #40 solo, then I would do Warehouse (with the shortbread jam, and extra long with wailing and dualing solos from Leroi and Boyd).
I would actualy, most likely want to play my songs, since I would have the chance to play them live in front of a big listening crowd. So my songs would be Janell and Ballad of Silence (super long outro for that one).
. . . if you don't know the shortbread thing, it was done a few times in the early 90s, where dave sings, "moma's little baby loves short bread, short bread . . ."

Its not twice as long. Dave just plays the first chord 1 measure, second chord 2 measures, then the 1st chord another measure. I guess you could say its a 4 bar phrase. So it starts over with the 1st chord. He plays each chord for two measures, the first chord is played the first and 4th measure.i-am-me wrote:So the pauses are the same? cause bartender i can do. meaning...the second chord is twice as long as the first? cause that makes A LOT of sense.dmbguitar718 wrote:Think of the Seek Up wail part like the Bartender wail part.
