sounds good, Ill probably dl them all while at work to listen to the different versions. For some reason this dl is taking forever, first off Im on high speed internet and its going at 7.20 kb/s and it says its gonna take 40 minutes, is this long as hell
that's strange, they downloaded for me in about 30 seconds...I'd stop and start it again...

I tried but I keep going super slow, I dont understand, 7 kb/s is way to slow for high speed, Ill be here till 4, Ill just let it go, itll get done eventually

check out the 6/20 version...hot shiz...it's going to be a fun song...reminds me a bit of song that jane likes in theme/feel...kinda...
Is that the first time DMB played it, cuz I know I downloaded a DMB version, it was the first time they had played it. I guess I just preferred the opening lyrics and scat singing, along with timmys part in the D&F version compared to that one
Wasn't the first time it was played the 6.11.04 DM+F show at Bonnaroo?

thats with all the ones kind of in general
he usually doesn't do the one with G chord, and the C chord pull off (now that i've listened to it more) i think is just on the G string, not the B as well

i've had plenty of DMB fans tell me it sounds good, as long as you listen to the right version, it sounds fine

Heres Winglets, Id say its as close to perfect as possible, no disrespect to others who took the time to tab it out, I couldnt tab by ear/video to save my life probably

Code: Select all

Capo 3rd Fret

e|-------------------|---------|-----------|-------|
b|-----1p0-------1-0-|-------0-|---0-----0-|-1---1-|
g|---------2-----0-0-|---0---0-|---0-----0-|-0-0-2-|
d|---2-----------2---|---0---2-|---2-----0-|-2-0-2-|
a|-0---------3-3-3---|---2---2-|---2---2---|-3-2-0-|
E|-------------------|-3-3-0-0-|-0-0-3-----|-------|

Good work on the tab - sounds good!

One question though: has anyone seen Thing played live since the tour started? While the tab works, I'm suprised to see "capo 3" called out as I have never prior seen or heard of Dave using a capo. I had been working on a tab without the capo under this assumption.

Just curious, there's a first time for everything right?

heres mine-

Code: Select all

Capo 3
E--x--x------------------------------x----x------x---x--x----x------------
B--1--0---------------1p0-----0------0----0------0---1-(1)---1------------
G--2--2-0h2p0---------2p0-----2p0----0----2p0----0---0--0----2------------
D--2--2-------2-----2-------0--------2----2------0---2--0----2------------
A--0--0-----------3------------------2----2------x---3--2--0-0------------
E--x--x--------------------3-------0-0--0-0----3-3---x--x----x------------

if you want, you can also throw in the first little hammer/pulloff thing at the end too
thanks a lot...i love to see how dave progresses his songs and hmm from bonaroo was awesome but i love the extra pull off's he does now. great work sounds excellent.

first C-chord picking...

Unread post by limegreenbooger » Mon Aug 30, 2004 8:23 pm

I'm listening to the Camden night 2 show, and the first C-chord Dave picks ends with what sounds like a finger on the second fret of the G-string - may be a hammer on the G-string rather than a pull-off on the B-string.

----------------
-----------1-1--
-----------2p0--
--------2-------
----3-----------
----------------

That's just what it sounds like to me....may be a progression from the original versions.

I think the tabs up are quite close, but of course have a different opinion as well.

Code: Select all

e---x--x------------------------------------------------
B---1--0------------------1---1------0------------0-----
G---2--2-0h2p0------------0h2-0------0---------0--0h2p0-
D---2--2-------0h2p0----2----------0-----------2--2----- and continues like DJR07's tab
A---0--0--------------3----------------------2----2-----
E---x--x-------------------------3------2--0------0-----
                                                 *

* in some versions the last chord above is played as Em with the hammer/pull on the D string instead of the G string

--0-------
--0-------
--2-0h2p0-
--2-2-----
--0-0-----

and when singing dave doesn't do the hammers and pulls, just straight chords
Download an mp3 of me playing the tab to get a feel for timing and how it sounds.

MP3 of GGT Riff

I tabbed it after listening to a few of the newest versions (vary from earlier ones) using the Chronotron plugin for winamp. You can slow down the music as well as change pitch with it. Very handy, I reccommend it! Also apologies my guitar is a little outta tune!
