So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

heathcliff, hopefully this will help.....
my wife bought me a hd-35...absolutely beautiful guitar, however, i didnt want to take it outside of my home in fear of damaging it....so i went out and found the dxm.....400 bucks, i threw a fishman matrix pickup in it for another $150 (pay a professional to put it in, trust me)...i was absolutely amazed...it had the same beautiful sound as my other martin (by itself and plugged in)...its true what they say....a martin is a martin...

Utter. Blasphemy. That is one of my favorites.
I cant believe I just read that Jason.

Do you not take lyrics into account? I love hearing that song...granted, playing it isnt as much fun as playing smts or ants or a lot of others, but shit man. Theres some lyrical genious in that song.
As far as my personal pick for my least favorite song, (I'm excluding the entire everyday album, cause that just makes it too easy) it would have to be proudest monkey. I know they can jam it out a bit, but the song just doesnt do it for me.

ahhhhh....mbgreen!!
honestly...i am definitely more of a melodic kinda guy...doesnt really matter what the lyrics are but if it's got a riff like ants/smts/wwys/etc. I will love it no matter what...granted dave's lyrics are fucking amazing and fit his songs like white on rice....but there are lots of "good-lyric" songs out there...but they are just downright boring...dave's songs are anything but boring...I really dont want to hear a guy playing an acoustic guitar and playing chords and singing "good lyrics"...there is nothing more common and boring...NONE of daves songs are boring, but I would listen to another one before I listened to seek up or proudest monkey or cry freedom...but hey...I STILL listen to those songs, so....

The first DMB song i learned how to play. The "From deep inside" part still gives me chills. A very good song from Dave's experiences in South Africa.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what was the first song you learned to play?
