Have you ever seen Dave try to tune to Drop-D on the fly? It's not pretty :)

"I used to be able to tune a guitar by hear, then I got a machine to do it for me, now Ive reached the level where I cant even do it with a machine" or something like that, god I wish I could remember how that dave speak went exactly, it was hilarious, you gotta hear him tell it to get the full affect of course but damn, that one is great.

the thing is!

the guitar shop i by my stuff in had a Gibson chet atkins SST ( used )
for sale around 800 dollars. the only thing that was wrong whit the guitar was that they had varnish it black again??

was i stupid not to buy it?
yes, because all that means is that the dude painting the back of the guitar, messed up a little, they scraped off his paint job, and then re painted it.

"The real reason I don't have to tune or break strings is because of the pact with the devil that I made. That's just one of the clauses in the pact with the devil. Actually, contract negotiations for artists have improved since Robert Johnson. You gotta have a good lawyer when you're dealing with the devil. My contract is way better than Robert Johnson's."

anyone notice how that site has the HD-28V listed with "(Vintage)" out to the side?

it means V-shaped neck, no?

wow...i just checked the martin specs, and it does show the V as having a "Vintage Drop-Belly Bridge"...i never noticed that. just when you think you know everything...

although it also has the modified-v neck. is that not what most people think of when they see the HD-28V, rather than the vintage aspects of it?

i tried to get a DM3MD on e-bay recently, it went for $5000. You can find out how much it cost directly on the martin guitar website. it even says how many of them Dave owns.

It has Vintage toner top, vintage bridge, vintage tuners, I believe different inlays(could be wrong there)...that's all I can remember.. Ryan(everydaydmbfan_18) has one and he loves it.. as do I. But it's gonna be a bitch if he wants to get a bone saddle because the saddle is longer then a standard one..heh
he's got 7 chets!?!?!?! wow
i wonder how many of those he still has - either very few, or he's got a whole addition of his house full of em
at MSG like 2 years ago i remember watching monk re-string a guitar and next to him i saw the "cart" of all dave's guitars. i definitely noticed 2 black chets on it. its still around...
