Help on crash (yeah crash)
In crash during the "in a boys dream part is Dave just playing the same thing as the verse with tims fills over it or does he change up the rhythm? I've not been playing long and I have the whole song pretty much but I just cant seem to recreate that part's sound when I play by myself.

definetly playing a different rhythm. i don't know why Kanter's not changing the tab on his site. its confusing a lot of people. do a search on this. if you can, try and find a tab posted by billy westom. very helpful.

The only thing I can tell you as far as helping you with the rythm for that part, is to listen to a D&T version (ala, Storytellers, Live at Luther). I am no good at explaining rythm while typing on a keyboard. Just lysten for it, and try to "feel" it. I hope that helps, at least at little.

Or go to dmbcrash.com and listen to his solo version (from the AIDS Benefit) without timmy. That gives a better idea as to the rhythm

This is what I play for this part and I think it sounds fine. If you had two guitars one would be playing the main rhythm, the one that most people think sounds wrong. Then the other would play this:
The 2nd fret on the E string is almost just like a hammer on then pull off. Try that tab out and see how that goes.

actually, he doesn't change rhythm, he just plays the 1st chord for four beats instead of one and then he continues on with the chord progression.
just play it like you normally would, but after you hit the bass note of the first chord, don't change chords. hold it and hit the bass note 3 more times before you move onto the next one, then just go all the way around

He's right, and it's what I do while my friend does the Timmy thing.elijah77jc wrote:actually, he doesn't change rhythm, he just plays the 1st chord for four beats instead of one and then he continues on with the chord progression.

Here's what I play for Reynold's part during that section:
Basicly the same notes as posted above, but I think he hits Gb5/F#5, Ab5/G#5, E5 every eight quarter notes (2 measures).
