honestly, i think this song is one of dave's most poetic. it's called Looking at You:
if i had the world to make a day for you
i'd fill each hour with praises and shower you
if i held the sun inside my hands
i'd shine it bright inside your heart
and i'd turn my praise and focus to the thought of you
and stand you there
a statue in my soul forever
i dreamed i saw you dancing and i joined you there
and spun we did in the moon's warm light
know i dreamed that they take away everything you held once and sorrowful for
i will love you like no man can and we will dance
i'll take the moon
i'll take the sun from the starry sky
and decorate your nights with light and shadow like no other can
i will dream of stealing you from all the things that bother and hurt you
you my love and only love alone
if i could make a day for you
and shadows taken all of you
and i can see my heart beat louder and my face grow warm
each time you stand by me my only love
so if you a man and family do
remember this time we only caught short view
of each other while the sun in shine
i will rake in each day and sell it to you
and sell it to you
and sell it to you my love
no captain but you my love
no king but you
if i had the world to make a day for you
i'd fill each hour with praises and shower you
if i held the sun inside my hands
i'd shine it bright inside your heart
and i'd turn my praise and focus to the thought of you
and stand you there
a statue in my soul forever
i dreamed i saw you dancing and i joined you there

"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

i have both of them, but i have to tell you, it's not that great of a song. the lyrics are amazing, but you can barely understand anything dave is saying. if you still want them (the first one is around 11 minutes with davespeak at the beginning, the one from the night before is about 4 minutes), IM = ShaggyTad.jsgksu wrote:Hey, where can I get that song, Ive never even heard of it and I just checked it out at dmbalmanac and it says hes only played it twice, both times during the D&T 97 tour. Think you could send it to me over aol, lemme know.

i think #41 is the most poetic. just my personal opinion.

too much is very poetic.. i mean.. come on, its about a BJ right?? how much more poetic to you need?
ok.. so that was rude.. my bad...
which of daves songs arent really poetic anyway, its really hard to find a song that doesnt have at least one stanza in it that does hit you somewhere as ... wow... (for lack of a better word, and my awful spelling)
