So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I dont know what the first chord is but the next three notes sound like a walkdown on the low e. 3rd fret, 2nd then 1st

Dave played the first chord a lot lower on the fretboard last night I'm pretty sure, but that is pretty sweet that you got that done that quick.

Winglet, this is ur only tab for a new song I play different (but since i havent gotten a chance to say thanks....thanks, you've done some amazing work!), I saw Dave at Toronto, he starts highter at the neck for the intro, so I've been playing
Code: Select all
Intro
e----------------------------------
B----------------------------------
G----------------------------------
D-----9------------------4--------
A-----7------------------2--------
E------------5--3--2--------------
Listen for timing and strums

Of the 5 now ones (including Thing) I think this could be my favorite, and so I've focused some time on it. Winglet's tab is spot on, but he left out the first chord. Here is what I use:
Code: Select all
e------
B------
G--16--
D------
A--14--
E--15--
I've been to three shows so far, and I remember that Dave was high up on the neck for this chord. It sounds perfect if you can fret the strings fast enough, which takes prectice if you don't have a cutaway.

I've been listening to the recordings and have watched Dave and there's some modifications that I think need to be made to this...
Dave does start high on the neck for the song, but there's a slide in there too. I'm almost certain he plays it like this
Code: Select all
e-------|----------|
B--12---|--10/12---|
G--x----|----------|
D--9----|--7/9-----|
A--10---|--8/10----|
E-------|----------|
Later, in the chorus, I hear a hammer on the D... and I recall from seeing it in Hartford that it's up higher on the fret than what Winglet has. With some noodling, I found this...
Code: Select all
e|---|---|--------|---|
b|---|---|-3------|-2-|
g|-4-|-4-|-0------|-2-|
d|-x-|-x-|-4---4h5|-2-|
a|-2-|-2-|-5------|-0-|
E|-3-|-3-|--------|---|
Everything else Winglet has is perfect.
Feel free to give me feedback on this...
Matt
