endurance in crash and satellite - my hand craps out

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Jared,

I still can't do the split for "Trippin Billies" like Dave does but when I started I couldn't even get my fingers to spread from 2 - 6. Now at least I can do it and it actually sounds like something :)

What I would do is instead of playing the whole song is play a verse of Crash, then a verse of Satellite, and then a verse of another Dave song like Ants ... and then back again ... that gives your wrist tendons and fingers a chance to relax for a bit and not cramp up ... :)

I'm right-handed and I've always pleased my wanker with my left hand. I don't know why.

On the other hand, Satellite and Crash have never given me problems. Looks like nature gave me the jump on all you suckas.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

Practice hard but not too hard! When it starts hurting, you should push it too much - you can get serious injuries because of that! The trick for those stretchy fingerings is looking for a more comfortable position. If you raise the arm of the guitar a little bit, you'll find it takes a lot less tension in your fingers to do those chords - That's why classical guitar players have that weird posture when playing.
