Unread post by staker1875 » Tue Apr 01, 2003 4:07 pm

What do you think the best Dave song is for two people to jam to with just guitars and no singing?

LIOG is probably the easiest one b/c of that drawn out jam in Dmaj....

You can trade off on solo's and even improv on the main riff.... and because it's so simple to play, it doesn't sound too busy if there is more than one guitar playing rhythm.

A lot of songs are made for jamming. The jam part in what would you say is probably the most groovy, but so much to say and lie in our graves are really firery as well. but my personal favorites are... don't ask why ...Say goodbye and the stone!

Jimi Thing is the best......I jammed with a buddy of mine on that for at least 20 minutes before...maybe longer.

As a side note, three years ago I was at a party and there were a few guitars lying around. People were jamming a bunch and at one point they got up to get drinks. Well I picked a guitar up and started playing Jimi Thing. A guy came up to me and said something to the affect of, "Dude, don't play Dave cause no one can jam to Dave." And he took the guitar and continued to play country crap. Well, the punch line to this story is....later that year the same guy died of a drug overdose. Sad but true..... so don't F*** with Dave!
