Crash part 2:

Unread post by snoopdoug1 » Wed Mar 26, 2003 8:01 pm

Ok, so thanks to all your guys help... and a lot of practice(I'm a super newbie)... I think I've finally gotten the first part of crash down pretty decently. So now I'm trying to work on

Code: Select all

"Crash, Into Me..."
E:--------------------0--------
B:---5----------------0-----3--
G:---4----------------1-----2--
D:---2----------------2-----x--
A:-4-4----------------2-----x--
E:---------4--5--7\---0---2-2--
   2 1 2 (4) 2
I understand everything up to the 7\. 7\ means to hit the note, and then slide? Is that right? Then, after you do that, I can hear a downstrum on the next chord, but then it sounds like he(jkanter) does something else before he hits the 2. Anyone know? Is it strumming that same note?

Also, being the complete newbie that I am, I can't seem to figure out the strumming pattern for the last chord there. I listen to it over and over and I just get more confused. Can anyone help?

Thanks! I know I can't compete to any of you guys, but maybe if/when i get the whole crash song done I'll record it so you can hear it. You'll be able to hear what your advice has done! :) Haha, I hope I'm not that bad though, and yer like... damn, he sucks!
Thanks again!

first of all, you dont really need to slide down from the 7. if you just pluck it and go to the E chord, it will sound like a slide anyway.

second, as far as the F#/D chord, here is a basic strum pattern..i hope it comes out right...

E-------------------------------------------------
B------------3----3----3----3---------3----3----3---
G------------2----2----2----2---------2----2----2----- play that twice
D------------x----x----x----x----------x----x----x----
A------------x----x----x----x----------x----x----x---
E---2---2---2----2----2----2----2----2----2----x--

----D---D---D----U----D----U----D----D----D----U

try that the best you can, if you cant get it, i could post an mp3 that plays it real slow...

Thanks Billy! I'll try that tonight when I get home and I'll report back later.

One more question. You only hit the chord that comes after the 7/ once? Is that right?

So you hit 4,5,7, that chord once, then play the pattern you gave twice through? That sound about right?

Thanks again!
