LEAST favorite dave song(s) to play?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

LEAST favorite dave song(s) to play?

Unread post by lordmelt » Mon Mar 24, 2003 7:16 pm

since we are all talking about favorites to play, why dont we address what we may not like playing, like when someone asks you to play something you'd rather not(whether its hard or cuz you dislike it, whatever)

for me:

i did it, christmas song, pay for what you get, let you down, cry freedom, pig, busted stuff, everyday

i would say those are the ones i dont like to play

they definitely all are fun to play at times. a lot of songs i don't play very often. so when someone asks me to play a song i haven't played in a long time, that's sometimes the funnest because it's like a new song again.

excellent point, i didnt think about like that right away, that happens to me a lot, i guess most of my reasoning behind these songs is that i dont really like the songs, not cuz they are hard; over the months i've been on the site i have gained the ability where nothing is really hard anymore, but these songs just dont strike me when i am jammin, and when people ask to play them i am kind of like----o well, i suppose
but sometimes i can say i would much rather play a song i dont play much cuz i get asked to play a certain song too much and i get sick of it

just my 2 cents

crash. hands down. i first learned it and was all excited about learning a new song, but all i would ever hear was "play crash! come on play crash!" and i'd say, "no, how about something differnet... like warehouse or lie in our granves" and theyd just go "blah" and stop listening. then i'd hit that damn c# and theyd perk back up.

over time i grew to dislike the song more and more, now i don't play it at all. i just flat out dont like it anymore.... it got turned into too much of a teeny bopper song for me to enjoy playing anymore.

i kinda know what you mean about crash. alot of people only recognize crash so when i say i play dave stuff, and they are like "well play something" i will play something easy and fun like grey street or two step or 41 and they usually cannot pick out that tune for some reason or arent really impressed (pearls before swine!), but you play that c# and their eyes light up. oh well, i guess it is THAT song.
there arent really alot of songs i refuse to play. its that cycle of rediscovering why you like that song and all that jazz.
lordmelt- i just learned let you down and im totally diggin it. oh well, gimme time and ill tire of it and itll lose its new.

dont get me wrong its a great song

but my hand always cramps up super bad and hurts for hours after keeping my hand in one position for that long
Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

I didnt like some of those either...for me it was because I couldnt play them right...but once I did, they were so fun...especially LYD....hearing that rhythm come out of your guitar is just chilling....this may or may not be the case with you....but to me, now that I can play them right they are so much fun...

I like playing them all. I guess I can't think of one that I really do'nt like playing. But I guess if I had to pick one, it would be crash.

well considering the fact that the entire song is the same power chord, i definitely see how someones hand could get cramped on it.
