I know this song has been posted about a million times already but I just have a quick question: Is Dave strumming or picking the chorus/verse? I just watched some video of him and it looks like he's strumming and muting all the way. So how should I work on it? By picking or strumming?

He's actually picking the notes (the rythm is complicated so he uses alternate picking on the a string). When you get it down you will be able to do it so fast it will look like you're strumming. He strums that one little 3103 chord in the verse and the rest are picked.

yeah, that's how it goes really, a good way to practice is to strum it almost in a picking fashion if that makes any sense at all...don't do a continuous strum, try and break it up and emphasize different notes until you can get to a point where you can just really emphasize the picking
