Dave' Guitar on 01 Farmaid Crush

Unread post by ndfilth » Sun May 09, 2004 8:20 pm

I was watching the video of Dave playing 01 Farmaid when I noticed that he was playing Crush, his guitar looked funny. It is obvious that it is a Taylor, but is it the 914? The reason I ask is that the cutaway looks different. The point is much sharper than most of the 914's I've seen. Any reason for this?

Dave owns two different types of the 914.

The first one has a more rounded cutaway, which i believe is called a venetian cutaway. The other guitar with the pointy cutaway is called a florentine cutaway. Both are the same model 914, just two different types of cutaways. I think i said cutaway one too many times :D

Thanks for the info, but is there any indication as to why he would use two different cutaway styles, i.e. aesthetics? sound?

I believe they are just different years.. taylor changes their designs each year, so they have different looks.. i believe that is it.. you might want to ask Shane, he knows a ton about taylors
