Dave using a Paul Reid Smithe guitar?

Unread post by ndigo » Thu May 06, 2004 9:12 pm

A little while back I remember hearing that Dave had recently purchased a new guitar and equipment from Paul Reid Smith. His name is on the artist page of PRSguitars.com. Does anyone know specifics on what kind of guitar Dave purchased?

I never knew this, but if he did buy one, it's for his own personal use and most likely not for playing out in the public

Probably a Hollowbody I Electric guitar. He played a Hollowbody II on 4.21.98 on Crash Into Me. So he already owned at least 1 PRS.

I think the article/story said it was specifically for the new album, but in the end it was a rumor and doesn't really mean anything.

it sounded the exact same as regular on the chet. he had no distortion on, and barely any "bite" that you get from just a regular electric guitar. only problem was that it looked like a bass guitar the way he held it.

The rumours I heard were that the new album will be electric, not hard to believe since he just toured with two of the best lead players living today

There is a DMB poster I have seen with Dave using a PRS. It was red. It was 3 live photos, mainly focusing on Dave, and one of them is him playing a red PRS.
Yes, I am in a box

He used an electric on Everday, so I wouldn't be too surprised.

I bet he'll continue using his taylors for DMB shows and his DM3MD for everything else.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
