Billies Verse

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Billies Verse

Unread post by crush40 » Wed Mar 05, 2003 3:43 pm

So yeah, I'm sitting around...nothing to do, and I thought to myself, "Self, let's go crazy and learn the trippin billies verse, since you know all the easy parts." So then I went and tried learning it...gathered all my resources...and there still seems to be something missing from the tab, or just my ears playing tricks on me...I can't get the 4/5 slide (just before the end of the first part of the verse) to sound right at all...it just doesn't sound like that part in the song. Any recommendations? I'll take anything you got on playing that verse...

Thanks in advance...

i dont know if this helps but the 4/5 slide on the d string is ther same as the 9/10 slide on the a string, it seems to be closer to the rest of the notes at that point in the verse, so i think its a little easier

I play it:

Code: Select all

--------
--------
4h5p4-0-
--------
--------
--------

I think it sounds good/better, try it out, tell me what you think.

i just posted my version of the verse on the other trippin billies thread and you can see how i play it. ok, i'll show you here:
instead of 4/5\4 0, play 4/5\4(on the G string) and then hit 7(on the D string). that's how i do it.
