Joan of Arcadia against Dave?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Joan of Arcadia against Dave?

Unread post by GreyBlueAnt » Mon Apr 12, 2004 11:52 am

A friend of mine was tellin me she heard the actors on Joan of Arcadia talking about Dave in one of the episodes. I don't watch so i don't know, just hear say so far. Anyways she says that they are talking about how things arent always what they seem... like dave matthews. You think you like his music when you first hear it, but the more you listen you realize that it's not that good.

WOW!, alright, granted be have their own opinions, and who am I to say that they are wrong... but come on. I think i was just the opposite. When i first heard dave i thought, eh, kinda cool. But the more i listened, the more details i heard, the more i liked it. It was actually Dave that got me started playing guitar (well, Dave and Shane Barnard). So anyways, maybe this post doesnt belong here, but i felt like ranting.

Wow. Someone actually watches that show?

I've actually never seen it, but I can't see it being anything sort of sacrilegious, from what I can tell from the previews.

greyblueant...it's actually the complete opposite of that, just like you said... I hate saying this, but when I bought L@RR in like 97 or 98(don't remember), I gave it away. I listened to the whole cd through, and didn't like it at all...crash wasn't on it. , and that's why I ditched it. Anyway, I honestly think it's a matter in which the listener can't understand, when they don't at least have respect for DMB. The music is at a different level than they can comprehend. It's too far away from radio music that they can't get it.

Yeah, I agree with you, GreyBlueAnt. When I first heard DMB, I didn't really think it was anything special. Then when I started becoming interested in them and listening to more and more songs, I realized the musical genius that is DMB! I can't believe that anyone would think the opposite, but everyone has their opinions.

Instead I fear I spill the blood of my children all around"

My Grandma loves that show. She made me watch it once, and I hated it. Take the movie Clueless and mix it with a person who thinks god speaks to them and you got it.

For me it was exactly the opposite. I used to not be that impressed with dave but I gain a greater respect for his music the more I listened to it.

Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I started just like Davy and absolutely hated Dave like my sophmore year. Then about my junior and senior years I started listening to them a little bit and that was a year or so ago and now I cant stop listening to him. Dave amazes me every time I listen/play it.

Hey, some people do, some people don't.
Some like to smoke a bowl, and some don't.
But it's okay, it's meant to be that way.

Besides, there are too many DMB fans, I'd like it if I could actually eliminate some of the fans out there.

My two cents,
