i might also add finding a lefty guitar is a bitch. i went to this bad ass guitar shop in Minneapolis, MN it mostly Taylors and Martins, very nice store, and since ive never played either I wanted to, but they didnt have 1 lefty.

I totally agree...Im just now sort of getting to the stage where I can try and work on that as opposed to general bullshit, and its damn hard.gcom007 wrote:muting makes or breaks a guitar player...I swear...it's the biggest thing that people just downright suck at...

yeah, I think you have it, djs. there's also palm muting with the right hand which is like trapping only not a complete trap. you're strumming but your muting the strings just a little with your right hand to get cool effect. When I play Don't drink the water, I trap and palm mute on the verses.djs488 wrote:so, is muting using you left, and trapping using your right? is trapping when you brush your had across as you strum? cuz i can do that.
Warehouse is mostly left hand muting but he also throws in some right hand slaps on some beats every now and then. when he plays solo, he always has that back beat going with his percussive slaps. Then there's also chickas (term coined by dmbfanjason) which are quick strums of the left hand muted strings. you here them in the acoustic version of Fool To Think from 10.24.02 and before the jam in LIOG in acoustic versions.
good, and you?
