Alternate #40 lyrics

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Alternate #40 lyrics

Unread post by TheStone » Mon Mar 22, 2004 4:30 pm

At the Gorge Ampitheatre 7.17.99, dave plays #40 with different lyrics than those on the main page. I can make out some parts but others I'm not sure. Some of the lines I can make out are "when we were just kids you and I used to laugh and tomorrow was nothing big to us. But lately things have changed, rearranged themselves..." Could someone post this version in full?

#40 7.17.99
tables turned again
and then you and i friend
are faced with the same questions as before
but a little more now is space
oh i live with this
when we were just kids
you and i used to laugh
how tommorow was nothing big to us

lately things have changed
and rearranged themselves
oh and pressures on
pressure's heavy too
heavy to you and me

oh and i win again
but you can lean on me
and i hope i can lean on you
my good good friend
good good friend

hope i lay to die
but you wouldn't read out
and we lay like our heaven
the light is on
i think that you what i saw
we lay our day there
and we go back to lightly
all these things
that how dreamers would dream as we did and we
always
oh yes well

hey you got a plan
you got your way
and got your style
and it throws me off a while
but i remember all the blinking light
oh and our day when we can play
oh when we're ninty-five years old
you and i'll still be laughing over lies
only lie the way this return
and to lay light it would leave
and we will find out
the childish dreams we shared to rain away
and to lay down right here
a lover's good
oh but a friend is so true to me
lasts for always

oh i did
oh i would dream to light again
you were mine
always

Here you go, I would have just sent the link to site, but I'm not overly computer savy, anyways enjoy

I like how the song never has a set direct words or meaning. I always play it and improv about things in my life. Improv singing is great, about 1/4 of my songs that I've written are improv.

#40 12.19.98
dream hello a day
and i play
i begged in time we'll fall apart and
then we all could start again right

i spend another while
and in the style
and all this spinnings got me
round and round inside
oh up and down so quiet
oh i will with you and i do
i do it when i can
when i will
i will when i can

These are the lyrics from live in chicago, when he goes into LIOG, enjoy!

Does anyone not ever notice that most of the posts (such as this one) in Dave's Guitar Discussion have absolutely nothing to do with guitar? Or have you guys simply given up in pointing it out because almost everyone does it?
When Jesus Christ was nailed to his tree
Said "oh, Daddy-o I can see how it all soon will be
I came to shed a little light on this darkening scene
Instead I fear I spill the blood of my children all around"
