So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

What Guitar did Dave use for "Live In Chicago"

Unread post by Mikeyt21 » Mon Mar 22, 2004 4:13 pm

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew what guitar dave used for the "Live in Chicago" album.

The acoustic sounds kinda bright, so Im guessing it might be a Taylor, but Im not sure.
Thanks

I think it was the black Chet Atkins SST.

Im not sure if Ricky is correct, but i can atleast say the timing would be right. Dave used that chet back in the UTTD (1994) and Crash (1996) days and the concert was in 96. Just throwing some numbers around lol.

I think it was the chet also, in the slip that came with the cd, there is a picture of dave playing it.

It was broadcasted live on the net also. I've got it in 3 parts if anyone's interested then hit me up on MSN or AIM. It's pretty cool to see Vic Wooten and Tim Reynolds go off the way they do. And Boyd goes nuts on LIOG.

I've had the MPEGs for a while. He has 2 Chets in the show, one tuned differently for Last Stop, or such. I love watching Tim. He plays slow as well as fast, and he doesn't show off, he just plays, and just focuses on the music and the feeling from it. Man, I love Tim :-D .
Yes, I am in a box

"Cause we love you all, so much."

That was such a good concert.

That's funny because I think the violin solo for LIOG was overdubbed in the studio for the CD.

Yeah, you may be right. Either way, it still sounds pretty cool to me. Got to love that hair floppin' around and those huge teeth. :D When I saw him at the Gorge last summer about 15 rows back, I was blinded from that awe-inspiring smile. What a guy!
