I love playing WWYS...i just learned rhyme and reason, i couldn't get the rhythm down for a long time...It's weird, i know how to play most of dmb's songs, its just a question of perfecting them i guess...warehouse pisses me off more than anything b/c i know how to play it and what i need to do to mute it, but i just can't get it...

F***ing beautiful song. easy as hell too. I've been getting into D&F covers as well. Solsbury hill and waste are my favorites

Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

As far as new stuff I'm delving into the Some Devil album working a little with Trouble, Up & Away, and tightening up vocals on So Damn Lucky.
However I really got back into playing Pay For What You Get, Granny, and Rapunzel. Mostly vocal clean-ups but good re-visits...like an old friend...
Ah....I'll be quiet now.

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
I learned The Stone finally! Frick, that's a rewarding feeling. It's true what they say, rythm is everything. My left hand could do the fingering, but my right hand was a bit off. I just closed my eyes and tried to "feel it" and booya! Not trying to sound arrogant or anything, I'm just stoked that I learned that song finally. Those videos were a real help. Thanks jkanter!

does anyone in here play anything other than just dave. i mean daves awesome and i play alot of dave but some of the people in here make his songs sound like they are hard. like the stone or rhyme and reason. i learned rhyme and reason in about 10 mins. and was playin along with my cd and it took maybe an hour to get the timing for the stone. i think the hardest song ive learned by him so far was trippin billies that took a couple hours but thats it. now im just learnin some timmy solos but those are pretty easy because most of them are tremelo picking or done with a slide. i think some of the people in here should get out and explore and try some other type of music to broaden their musical horizons. there is stuff out there that is so much harder and if you practice that then when you go to learn dave it takes no time at all. dont let this stop you from playin dave but try new things and youll get better, only learning dave restricts you to only dave. i suggest learning scales.

Congratulations on learning his songs so quickly, but others it does take a while. Dave's timing takes me a while to learn myself, but im glad someone finds it so simple.thetrinityprjct wrote:. i learned rhyme and reason in about 10 mins. and was playin along with my cd and it took maybe an hour to get the timing for the stone.

I think most people here do listen to and play other stuff too. I for one like to play anything from Beatles, Zep to The Darkness and Incubus. However, this is a website devoted to just playing DMB songs so that's what people here are more than likely to talk about. But keeping in mind what you said, learning scales is awesome. Once you get those down, it'll open another world for you.thetrinityprjct wrote:i think some of the people in here should get out and explore and try some other type of music to broaden their musical horizons. there is stuff out there that is so much harder and if you practice that then when you go to learn dave it takes no time at all. dont let this stop you from playin dave but try new things and youll get better, only learning dave restricts you to only dave. i suggest learning scales.
