the point is, hes gotten too big to keep in touch with our little people feeling...its not that he ordered this, its just that I am sure he KNOWs about this, and seems apathetic to those who put him and his where he is now...thats all...CPTino3001 wrote:I have to agree...I don't think Dave has as much control as some think over what gets shut down...

Maybe he doesn't have his fingers directly on the trigger that keeps shooting down concert sites....but to say he has no control?
Need we forget that it IS the Dave Matthews Band. Wouldn't the management exist to serve the band? I'm sure Mr. Matthews is fully aware of the policy.
The policy still sucks big fat donkey balls though...
Who released the first single from their 2001 album on Napster? Who, when asked if he supported Napster, commented that we should embrace technology?
Seems like someone is regressing a bit...

Yeah, I'm firmly in the corner of those who are extremely upset by this development. Whether or not Dave actually made the decision is highly questionable, but he DEFINITELY knows that it is happening. It just seems very silly to eliminate something that plays such a huge part in the community. This decision goes not only against their previous comments about how the most important thing is the music and letting people share it, but also it goes against almost everything they stand for as a band. If its a management decision that Dave and the band can do nothing about then thats something entirely different. I just have my doubts.......
Its a good thing Dave makes such kickass guitar parts that are so fun to play......or else.....or else.....................I dunno, I guess I'm a powerless fool

it's not that they're eliminating the sharing of music, but they feel that it has gotten way too impersonal now with all the online stuff. the whole point of the trading that made them big was that the traders would end up having conversations and become very close and would promote a very positive community, but now since everything is online people can just download shows and thats not how dave matthews band wants their music to be spread. if they want a positive sharing music community, i can't blame them because it's a great idea, so i don't really care that they've done this because i completely see their reasonings.dmplayer wrote:Yeah, I'm firmly in the corner of those who are extremely upset by this development.
