XMAS JAM 06

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

XMAS JAM 06

Unread post by crash » Thu Dec 09, 2010 12:55 am

I know I discovered this website far after its prime, but I can't get enough Dave Matthews, especially solo. I picked up guitar two and half years ago and have tackled most of his catalog due in no small part by this website!

Warren Hayne's XMAS JAM '06, which you can find on btjunkie (dot) org if you just seach (xmas jam 06 dave matthews). I fell in love with how totally zonked he is at this show and yet sounds perfectly imperfect. I hear all the fuck ups but he still rocks the songs. My friend was at the show and said he said something about how he had an acid flashback just before he got on stage and told everyone when he got on. Either way, he called Warren Hayne's an "angel" at some point. My boy's played guitar a long time but he said Dave's hand was firing away at the guitar on almost every song.

My intention of this thread is to maybe get a tab of Dave Matthew's Smooth Rider; which is by far one of the most awesome acoustic performances I've ever heard. One man, and his guitar, deliver a different intensity to each note and sound at every turn and it blows me away. It is songs, and versions, like these that are done by this man at times of (not to be religious) but God only knows when and who get to hear it. Warren Haynes is the highlight of this show no doubt, but it would be hard to say Dave didn't fill his shoes opening for Gov't Mule.

keep the hate out of comments please.

all for now.
