What Guitar are you Playing???
i got a washburn d31s, they dont make the model anymore but its pretty nice. i bought if for like 800 i think. are washburns usually regarded as lower end guitars? because i could've got a martin d-15 instead, but i thought the washburn looked and sounded better.

you did the right thing. always go with the guitar that sounds and feels best to you. that D-15 could've been a dud, and its good you didn't buy it just because it was a Martin.djs488 wrote:i got a washburn d31s, they dont make the model anymore but its pretty nice. i bought if for like 800 i think. are washburns usually regarded as lower end guitars? because i could've got a martin d-15 instead, but i thought the washburn looked and sounded better.

I guess im the only one playing an ovation. I have a black 15 year old Ovation 1867 Legend. It sounds awesome plugged in, and the action is suprisingly good. Got it for like 420 bucks.

I also Have a washburn and I love it. Mine probably is a lower end guitar(only $300) though. Im debating what my second guitar will be. I was thinking about a santacruz( http://www.santacruzguitar.com ) or a mabey a collings. But i dont think the funds will be availabledjs488 wrote:i got a washburn d31s, they dont make the model anymore but its pretty nice. i bought if for like 800 i think. are washburns usually regarded as lower end guitars? because i could've got a martin d-15 instead, but i thought the washburn looked and sounded better.

Let's hear it for the Washburns!!!
My first guitar was a jet black Washburn DC-10 cutaway which I paid only $250 for. It sure doesn't compare to a Martin or Taylor but it was the sweetest little thing for the money. It's stood up to some pretty serious abuse that I've put it through over the years and people still comment on how well it plays and how nice it sounds.
My other guitars include a Yamaha FG-420 12-string with pearl around the sound hole. I love this guitar! I still have yet to find another 12-string I like better....even in the Martin of Taylor department. Call me crazy but this guitar just plays so smoothly and sounds even more so!
And then there's my little Epiphone Les Paul clone I paid next to nothing for because I wanted to experiment with an electric....yeah I'll be sticking to the acoustic to be sure.
I'm also going to be paying for my Martin HD-35 for the REST OF MY LIFE but man was it worth it. I bought it last year EASILY over the Taylors which, in my opinion, sure do NOT sounds like the money you pay for them. The only Taylors I've played that I actually like are the ones made out of KOA wood but other than that I love the warm tones Martin cranks out.
