Rye Whiskey Tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Rye Whiskey Tab

Unread post by DMBZeppelin » Wed May 06, 2009 3:07 pm

Someone posted a tab on Ants. After looking at a vid it seems about right. Thought I'd throw up over here. Though I don't think it's 100% correct, but it's close. If you look at the YouTube vids it has kind of an intro if anyone feels like figuring that out.

Tab:

Code: Select all

e--x---x---x-------------x--
b--x---x---x-------------x--
g--9--13---9-------------9--
d--9--11---9-------------9--
a--7--12---7---------7---7--
e--0---x---0---7--9------x--

e--x---x---x----x--
b--x---x---x----x--
g--x---x---x----9--
d--7---5---4----9--
a--x---x---x----7--
e--5---3---2----0--

Video of him playing it solo at MSG
Best quality for tabing, professional video: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/video/in ... 2074598001
Whole song with intro I mentioned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32A8Z4ORme4&fmt=18

i think the "I surely will die" part is more like

Code: Select all

e---------------------------------x
b---------------------------------x
g---------------------------------9
d---------------------------------9
a---------------------9---7/------7
e---------------7--9--------------x

The intro part goes a little something like this...

e--------------------------------------------------------------------------
b--------------------------------------------------------------------------
g--------------------------------------------------------------------------
d--------------4--2----2--4/6~~-------------4--2----2--4/6--4/2h4p2
a-----------2--------4----------------------2-------4---------------------
e--0~~~-0-------------------------0~~~-0--------------------------------

Also the "I surely will die" I find sounds a bit better if you do this:

e-------------------x----------
b-------------------x----------
d-------------------9----------
g-------------------9----------
a----------7h9p----7----------
e--7--9------------0-----------

This was very helpful. Thank you all for this!

Hey Kids,

Here's a much better recording of the Madison Square Garden performance:
