Thanks bo! Nice work! :) Too bad I still suck at playing, and I can't seem to keep at it right now either!

Tempo

Unread post by baboonfarmer » Wed Feb 04, 2004 7:21 pm

Bo - nice job man. My only beef is that you seem more worried about notes and less about the song. I can tell what you're playing...but it doesn't sound to me like a "song". I can't tap my foot to it. I can't sing along. It feels kinda stiff.

Were you trying to do that to help the newbies?

Please don't take this as a bust...your fingerings were spectacular...but ultimately, to me, fingerings and a quarter will get you a bag of chips...it's about rockin' the song.

Thats the whole idea with these videos , why make videos for people who can play the songs ? :)

Dave - I hear you. It just seems to me that right hand and tempo are two other requirements in learning to play any song...and frankly, you can manipulate the fingerboard however you want as long as you are playing the right notes, in the right order, in the right spaces in time.

I didn't mean to be a prick...I just saw the videos and thought that, although impressive in their fingerings, they didn't reflect the song per se. I should just shut up.

Very true , it takes a lot to make a song stand out and really punch through , but as you can see , it seemed to help people , so its all good :)

THANK YOU!

I tried #40 yesterday, aahh what a sweet little song, and I amazed myself by being able to play it within 30 mins (although I cheated a bit by making the C-chord with my 2nd, 3rd and 4th finger). Up to now I had only been able to play a bit of Satellite, Crash and Watchtower.
