#41 Help/Ideas

Hey I love the song #41 and I was wondering what scales are good to use to solo on it? Also, if any one has any licks they'd recommend for it please post. Thanks

the progression works well with the G major scale (aka A dorian mode). check out the performance of the song from 7.29.06 with Warren Haynes for some good ideas, as well as some Dave and Tim performances. The band played it this year with Warren and Tim too, forget the date, but that would probably be a good place to look too.

I find that if I just play a song in itunes and then start to fiddle around on the guitar I can discover what sounds good and what to stay away from. Doesn't always work but give it a shot, its fun!
