stone muting

thanks for all of your input.

i've been fooling around with it, and i've found the best way for me is to mute the A string with my pointer finger as i push down in the 2nd fret of the D string. that way i can up and down stroke the D string without worrying about making noise with the A or G. I do a sort of loose pick motion, but i keep a struming pattern. its helps out a lot with the timing of the song.
