i forget where i heard it (i think in the front of the D&T: LALC tab book or maybe Acoustic Guitar Mag) but supposedly he usea a Countryman Direct Box for his martins, and API preamps, Meyer CP-10 EQs, and Eventide Harmonizer for his Atkins. i may have gotten these wrong though.

some guy at my work tried to convince that he uses a loop pedal, he said he saw it on stage once.

hes also the same guy who told me that satellite would sound good using trash cans for drums, so you can imagine how much I value what he says.

the POD series are digital amp modelers. They model different types of amps and cabinets and are awesome to use for direct recording and also very usable in the live situation. I have a PODxt and it has some killer effects in it too. I like running my Chet through a fender amp sim on the PODxt with just a little bit of gain, so that I can get a little bit of dirt out of the sound when I really dig into the strings.

You can check out more info on the pods at http://www.line6.com.

You also have the opition of going online and downloading different amp models into the pod, so if you liked a certain amp a band played, you can actualy program it into the pod. Also, you program effects as well. I have never done this, but it's kewl to think I can do all that. It already comes with tons of fmous amps programed in it.

Some people have said bad things about Line 6 . . . I want to slap those people, lol.

Unless you're Blue Man Group. Those guys are insane when it comes to the circular file.
