So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Ok for those who haven't heard his stuff, I feel bad for you. Jack Johnson is a phenominal musician, give him as much time as Dave has had out on the scene and we will be almost as big. I have had the opportunity to play with and surf with him and it was some of the most inspiring times i have had. An extremely talented guitarist and lyricist with an amazing attitude towards life.
Sorry for gettin into it.
Thats just my opinion though. And for those who have just heard his music i suggest you look into his songs, lyrics, and lifestyle to get a better feel for where the songs come from, they will sounds a hundred times better then.

I love Jack Johnson's music. So cool, really good with lyrics too. He definitely is one of today's better artists.

His talent and positive attitude has really guided him in some fantastic directions. He is one of those people who succeed at everything they do.
He started off as a professional surfer, and this happened almost by accident. His back yard in So. CA was some of the best surf in CA, and he ended up on the cover of Surfer Magazine before he had even entered a competition.
When he was injured in a surfing accident, he started playing guitar, but what he really pursued at this time was film making. His two surfing films Thicker Than Water and September Sessions are unbelievable. I've never surfed, but I absolutely love these films. Jack plays a lot of the soundtrack on his acoustic. If you're a fan, I highly recomend these. They are great background for parties too.
While making these films, some bootleg recordings slipped out, and were passed around the surfing community, and eventually to others. This is when I first got into JJ. He first hit the mainstream with Rodeo Clowns, Jack's song, performed by G-Love. Finally, he made an album and started touring and has continued to gain popularity. Both of his albums are very raw, acoustic, and under-produced. Just great, simple lyrics and music.
I guess I just wrote a short history of Jack Johnson.. huh?

Yeah I own September Sessions it is a pretty sweet DVD. I just put that in when ever I just wanna chill out and be mellow. I will have to check out Thicker Than Water, I didn't know about that one.

It took me a little while to warm to him, at first I didn't overly care for his voice, or some of his songs. But a friend kept playing, and he grew on me. I quite like his stuff now.
