Combining songs?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Combining songs?

Unread post by chris murphy » Thu May 29, 2008 1:45 pm

At the end of crush, I play x244xx then x224xx or 222xxx. I found that it all it lightly resembles Chris Issic's Wicked Game so I finish the song singing a verse of that song. The question: Does anyone here do something similar to this, maybe intro or outro or something in the middle. Doesn't have to be a Dave song. Im just interested b/c there is a good amount of talent on this site. And please feel free to clown on me for the wicked game outro.

Generally speaking, you can play any combo of 3-4 chords and it will sound similar to somthing else as most pop music contains the same progression. For that matter, there's nothing really originial in music. Good musicians take other ideas and repackage it to their sound.

I usually flow from Everyday into Up and Away. Both because it has the same C chord in the beginning of Up and Away as the verse in Everyday, and first lyric in Up and Away flows nicely with Everyday. "Everyday, Everyday with you..."
