I was surprised to see Dave holding a HD-28V on the cover of Guitar World Acoustic #67. It's out at the stores now. Pretty cool article too. Maybe it was just for the photo shoot. Has there been a sighting of Dave playing his HD-28V lately?

It's just an older picture of Dave taken around 1999, just before Martin released his signature model. Around 99, that was when he was still using his HD28v for D&T shows.

Yeah, that makes sense. He looked younger in the picture but I though it was from all the makeup they slapped on his face. Is the full original photo floating around anywhere?

At the Allstate show i sat side stage, and i noticed the at the end of his set with Trey he handed Monk the HD-28v. i could tell this because i could see that it was only a two piece back, and could see the white line down the middle, so he still does break it out every now and then.
