Grace is Gone

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Grace is Gone

Anyone have any kind of advice for Grace is Gone. I can't seem to get the timing right at all. I can play other things finger-picking pretty easily and I can't get this one. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!!

I actually ran into the same thing when i tried to learn this song about a week ago. What i ended up doing is just trying to strum it to get the rhythm down and then once i had the basic sound of the song i tried throwing in finger picking a little at a time. Give that a try. That way you can get the basic idea of the song down and then break it down into more detail once you have a good grasp on that. Great song.

well.. what i did when i started out was i just messed around with my thumb and pointer finger on my right hand until i could get something that sounded pretty close to what the actual song.... and then from there i just experimented until i got it right on.... for the most part just make sure that you hit the bass notes with your thumb and the lowere notes with your index finger and then as you gain skill.... add on your middle finger and that will seem so much smoother and easier than before once you get used to it... and most of all.. it sounds better..... hope this helps.... :)
