tempos of DMB's songs over the years

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

tempos of DMB's songs over the years

Unread post by cameronl » Sun Oct 21, 2007 3:12 am

I don't know if its just me, but when I listen to some of DMB's songs from like 94'-99' compared to how they are played now, it seems like the band used to play a lot of their songs much faster. When I say faster I mean, the tempos of the songs. For example, What Would You Say, All Along the Watchtower, Warehouse just to name a few, seems like they used to be played so much faster. It is because the band is a lot older now, or is it just how the songs have evolved over the years (to be played slightly slower)? Has anyone else noticed this or am I just Fool to Think?

They don't indulge in the same drugs they used to back then.

I've noticed this too. I think it is most obvious on Live at Red Rocks. All the songs seem to be played at a higher tempo.
