So, I thought I could play One Sweet World

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

So, I thought I could play One Sweet World

Then when I gave my rendition in front of a friend, he was like..

"Its sounds cool, but this part is wrong, it sounds different"

Verse
E:--------------------------
B:--------------------------
G:-----7----8/10-10--x-x-x-- <---finger 4
D:---8------8/10-10--x-x-x-- <---finger 3
A:-6-----------------x-x-x--
E:-------6-----------x-x-x--

I listened to myself over and over and was sure I had it right, but it seems when I slide 8/10-10 I DONT have the correct Up/Down strum..!

When I listen to Dave @ Luther, I also hear a very loud *smack* after the slide and before the x-x-x part.

What the hell is wrong with my silly alien fingers..????????????

Please help!! I'm down to one meal every 3 days, plus I wont be able to sleep if I dont get it right........ever.

Okay I went a bit far, but still I would like to get this right.

I listened to the Luther college version, and I don't hear a slap. I think you are hearing dave play the muted strings. Also, its easy to strum down on the slide part because you have to hit the e string before that. But I dont get what you're mixing up on the strumming because I think this song is pretty easy to learn. Just play with the song and you'll get it.

Are you playing the muted strum after the slide as you reset to start the riff over?
