Hey there! I was looking at this video on youtube someone posted a long while ago, DMB - Everyday ( youtube /watch?v=NIP4USOYK6Y ),
And uhm.. well it seems you hit 4 strings - But i have no clue how to mute those other two, or isnt he muting anything and just does not strum them?
It seems a bit hard to strum and not hit those two strings
Intro:
E---12-10-12-12--8-12-10-12-12- ----6-8-----8----
B----x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x- ----x-------x----
G----9--9-12--9--x--9--9-12--9- ----7-------9----
D---10-10-10-10--x-10-10-10-10- -----------------
A-8--x--x--x--x--8--x--x--x--x- -----------------
E----8--------------8---------- --6------8-------
*Are these right? If so, please tell me how you would mute those strings!
Thanks.
Robert.
Explanation please!

I have no idea where you got the tab you posted, but from watching the video, he is playing exactly what is on the main page of this site

Ahhhhh!
*cough* I figured they weren't the right tabs, after i posted them...
The one you linked is Fingerpicked though, isnt it just the strumming version? (song.php?sid=63&tid=112) ?
And my second question, the muting, could you explain me how he does this?
Thanks a bunch, looking forward for any of you to answer this!!

First, sometimes you have to be a little patient... most of the time your question will be answered and 98% of the time it already has. But, that's beside the point...SmB wrote:No one?
Second, to try and answer your question (mind you, I am at work and not in front of my guitar) on the link posted earlier that you replied...."isn't that the fingerpicked version", on the left side of that page there is a link under OTHER TABS FOR there is this function for many of the other songs too, fyi. The way you would mute is this....
http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=63&tid=112
Intro/Verse
E:-----------------
B:-----------------
G:----9--------9--- <---2
D:----10-------10-- <---3
A:-8--------------- x3 the End of Verse
E:----------8------
For the first chord, you want to mute the B&E (high) with your index finger, you basically press the 8 (index) on the A and lay the index across DGBE with no pressure (muting), not sure how much you know about guitar you're new to the boards so trying to explain as much as possible...
Pretty much the same with the second chord, your index finger presses the 8 on the E and pretty much lays with no pressure (muting) across ADGBE...
Mind you the 10/9 on D/G are being pressed, so if you have trouble muting those two strings it obviously doesn't matter, for they have a note being played on higher frets...
This allows you to strum almost every string to achieve a full sound and still only be hearing the "Everyday" notes...
Very sorry if this makes no sense or if this doesn't answer the question you were trying to have answered.... If it helped then please enjoy!!
