American baby tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what the heck he's doing in the "I ho- hold on" part. I'm watching the abbey road solo recording on youtube if that helps.

Help please?

That's basically what I have except for a slight change on the end:

Code: Select all

E----------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------2h3--2-------------------
G------------2---------4---------------------------------------
D----0---4--------2-----------4-----------------------------------
A--------------------------2------------------------------------
E----------------------------------------------------------------

Second time slide to 5 on the end

I posted what I saw him playing on Abbey Road. He does what you posted live and on the CD. He may have played it both ways at Abbey, but I just saw the variation I put up, which I like more anyways because it gives it more power when its solo acoustic.

Yeah I saw that's how he played it at Abbey Road and completely forgot. Sorry about that.

I'm having trouble with the timing of the chorus and the verse, the chords are extremely easy to switch between but i know my timing is off and its hard to make out the guitar part on the stand up cd, im sure the timing is really easy but any help would be greatly appreciated

Search for Dave Matthews American Baby Abbey Road on Youtube. It's just him playing it solo. That should help you hear it better.
