He's just alot more polished now. If you listen to older stuff it sounds really raw, and i mean raw to a point no one can achieve. In my opinion the man was touched by a higher power. I don't mean to say Dave's guitar playing is bad, but listening to some older recording his skills seem to be a bit higher than they are now. However I think that may be that his guitar parts are just a little more evident in older recordings. He seems to throw in much more variation in the younger ...

I know he does a lot of muting and variation when he plays this solo. Anyone have a good tab showing that stuff?

I was watching the video from halloween at the gorge(9/8/02), and was wondering how he played it there. It looks to me like he bars the end of the verse, not like the usual way which i thought was this.

Dave did use the HD-28 on Storytellers.

Vh1 airs it everyonce in a while, so if you keep checking you might catch it sometime.
