Yeah, it wasn't a drum machine. My brother is a kick ass drummer, and we recorded him playing drums.

Thanks for the input. SPYPRO you hit it right on the money. I was playing a Taylor 555 with Bronze strings.... and yes I had a comp. on the mix, I'm going to go back and change it and try and improve it. Thanks again!

I'm not being mean...."balls" is an AE term.
Also, I don't really mix vocals on top as most people do.

If you are able to multitrack do that. That way you can have the ability to mix the mic and pick-up how you want. Stereo just means you can pan somthing from left to right. If it's mono, no matter what you do it will stay in the center. Always record in stereo.

Well, like i said before it's all about what you are compressing. I'f I'm doing a screamer death rock band I set my thres. way back so i'm compressing them as soon as they start talking. My attack is the fastest I can make it, because I never know when they are going to take off. The gain I keep aro...

A compressor is universal. Those settings are "VERY" important. You must know one thing about compressors, they will either enhance or destroy your mix. Threshold: This allows you to tell the compressor when to turn on by setting the db level. The comp. will turn on sooner at -20 then it will at -5....
